“Yes, we’re getting a divorce,” Jennifer said plainly. She shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant about the situation.
“What happened between you and Adrian?” Ariana’s voice was gentle, probing carefully.
Jennifer looked away. “It’s just how things have turned out. We don’t love each other anymore,” she explained briefly, avoiding details.
Jennifer managed a casual smile at Ariana, yet Ariana saw the sadness in Jennifer’s eyes.
Seeing Jennifer’s attempt to stay detached reminded Ariana of her own efforts to seem unaffected by Theodore’s death. She knew all too well the turmoil Jennifer was hiding.
Ariana chose not to press further, sensing that it might deepen Jennifer’s distress. Instead, she simply offered a hug, a quiet gesture of support in her friend’s tough time.

Jennifer was bursting with energy. She and Ariana spent quite a bit of time striking poses for the camera, with Jennifer showing no signs of tiring.
At last, Ariana got a chance to relax. She leisurely sipped her coffee, watching as Jennifer was focused on editing their photos.
